I finished listening. I just want to say how much I appreciated the discussion about and empathy for white men, particularly those from the non-elite. Having worked for much of my career with guys who generally were non-college educated, I totally feel the same. The pigeon-hole white guys have been put in for decades (and it has been accelerating, of course) has everything to do with the rise of Trump. Meghan, maybe when The Unspeakeasy is off the ground, we could spend lots of time talking about the plight of white men. Now that would be a unique!

Hi Sarah and Meghan, I'm loving the podcast so far. Sarah might remember me from a few years ago; I actually ran 100 miles to raise money for EXMNA and we had a little chat on my short-lived podcast. I just wanted to touch on your conversation about comedy and how wokeness has damaged/killed it. I really disagree. I think that when some part of culture (in this case the woke left) is making certain things dangerous to say, that is actually a boon to comedians who are brave enough to say it. I've enjoyed specials in the past few years from people like Andrew Schulz, Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais, Nikki Glaser, Chris Destefano and others who are willing to cross those woke taboos in interesting and creative ways. Sure there will be people who do things just for the applause. It's not comedy, but I was at a concert a couple years ago and the opening act sucked and to get some applause he just yelled "Fuck Donald Trump!" So there will be comedic versions of that but I think that in general the creation of dangerous lines of thought actually makes comedy more interesting. Anyway, the podcast is great and I'm excited to have another show to add to my list of favorites!

Great episode!

Gotta confess that I really did like Nanette. I thought of it as sort of like the movie Get Out - a really interesting variation on the format. I don't think I would like to see that variation more than once but as a set piece I really liked it.
