I'd say a little improvement, not a lot. I tend to record myself low to ensure no distortion, but, yes, our levels weren't quite even. Will turn the knob up a notch and fix it next time.
Appreciating this 1 hour in. I would suggest a gimmick - a good marketing gimmick to go with Meghan's podcast theme - every time "nuance" is said, a bell goes off and you have to... do something - not sure exactly what. Rogan would do a shot or toke some weed, for example.
My favorite part was when you openly wondered if the "What Is a Woman" interviewees were confused or misinformed about Matt WALSH and the purpose of his documentary. Jesse Singal and Katie Herzog posed the exact same question.
My theory is that the interviewees thought they were speaking to Matt WELCH from the Fifth Column. Honest Mistake.
Also loved the illustration of the generation gap when you referenced Christopher Guest and Waiting for Guffman. Clearly Sarah won't know Spinal Tap or Best in Show. And apparently has never watched the Simpsons, where Guest has been a regular for 30+ years - that's her worst transgression.
EDIT: laughed out loud at your rendition of Steely Dan's "Babylon Sisters" (if the song was written today, the record company would force Becker and Fagen to change the "turn that jungle music down" lyric)
IIRC Katie Herzeg found that Walsh set up a dummy corp to make the film, with enough layers that a google search wouldn’t pull up his name. There does seem to have been a certain complacency, or even hubris, on the part of his interviewees. They were so sure they’d effectively silenced critics that Walsh was able to catch them off guard.
"Also loved the illustration of the generation gap when you referenced Christopher Guest and Waiting for Guffman." I'm early 40s and I have to say I felt OLD whenever Sarah didn't get a reference. Best in Show is such a great film. I think Meghan was right that Prof. Grzanka could totally be a character in a Christopher Guest film.
I very much enjoyed this first episode. It seems tailor-made for those of us who feel we don't fully belong to either tribe in the culture war. I don't want to defend every cause of the progressive left. Or at least I don't want to defend them to the limits demanded by the progressives. It's nice to hear intelligent discussion on these subjects. I don't expect to find answers. Thoughtfully posed questions probably does more to enlighten.
Finally, I agree with others who would want more covers for rock and roll song -- particularly if they involve a pun.
Meghan, I’m 10 years older than you (thanks Wikipedia) and *I* didn’t get all the popular cultural references. If you refer to something that even your co-host doesn’t understand, why not go ahead and explain it to the audience at large? For example, Ethan Strauss (https://houseofstrauss.substack) routinely does this, in a courteous and non-patronizing way, on his podcast because he knows not all his sports fans follow politics and not all his politics don’t always follow sports.
Excited for this new endeavor, since I am a great admirer of both of you.
Note: The sound levels in the recording need a lot of improvement. Sarah is way louder than Meghan.

Love this!! Really insightful and entertaining and love the raw honesty - look forward to more episodes!
Im just discovering this podcast. I’m so excited. Especially if it means we’re finally discovering what the hell a woman is.
Hell yeah!

Good idea. I already have a rubber band I snap my wrist with every time I say "nuance."
More Classic Rock covers please.
I'll just remember Megan Domme.
Nice introductory show.

I read somewhere that Walsh set up an llc or something to contact interviewees

Thanks! I ordered the book I think Sarah referred to. Its out of print.
Great show! Can you please provide a link or correct spelling of author Sarah mentioned? It was something like Ethan Swetter
Edward Shorter! He's written a few books on the subject. https://www.amazon.com/Edward-Shorter/e/B001H6PO84?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_10&qid=1656356890&sr=8-10
